Joba Chamberlain Has Been Cloned

NEW YORK (OCN) — What do you do when you resemble 22-year-old baseball player and pitcher of the New York Yankees, Joba Chamberlain?

Well, you don’t impersonate him that’s for sure but that is exactly what 29-year-old Ryan Ward is alleged to have done.

Ward finally struck out three weeks ago on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 and was able to fool one police officer who paid for his drink. “He [Ward] had him totally fooled into buying him drinks,” said one police officer. “We have all been having a pretty good laugh about it here.”

Before Ward was discovered, Chamberlain was placed on the 15-day disabled list by the New York Yankees and was removed from the Yankees/Rangers game in the fifth inning for stiffness in his right shoulder.

When Chamberlain learned of the impersonation by Ward, he was relieved that Ward had not had committed more serious crimes in his name.
